LOST Opportunities
Want the U.S. to drill for oil, gas and critical mineral resources?
Want the U.S. To Be First Among Nations?
Ratify the Law of the Sea Treaty!
Welcome to LOSTOpportunities.Org,
The Institute for Liberty's Project to Promote the Ratification of
The Law of the Sea Treaty
By the United States' Senate
Russia and China are gaining a vast global advantage over the United States, both strategically and economically, that can ONLY be rectified by ratifying the Law of the Sea Treaty. That’s why Ronald Reagan’s top administration officials are joining military leaders, business leaders and tens of thousands of conservative families across America in support of the treaty.
Did you know?
Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of State George P. Shultz and Chief of Staff James Baker III both endorse ratifying The Law of the Sea Treaty!
The Law of the Sea Treaty and the Legacy of Ronald Reagan
The Law of the Sea Treaty, which is under consideration by the United States Senate right now, is called a tribute to Reagan’s diplomatic dominance and skill! According to John Bellinger, who was senior State Department legal advisor under Ronald Reagan, Reagan’s demands regarding the Law of the Sea Treaty have been fully met, and give the U.S. a strategic world advantage – something President Reagan always fought for:
“The [Reagan] amendments even gave the United States unique rights not enjoyed by other countries, including a permanent seat on the council that governs deep seabed mining.
Based on the [Reagan] amendments and the strong support of the U.S. military and the U.S. business community, the second Bush administration supported the treaty
The amended treaty is a tribute to Reagan's diplomacy. It's time for the Senate to cement this important legacy and approve LOST now.” - John Bellinger III, June 15, 2012
Support for the Law of the Sea Treaty is Broad Among Conservatives, the Military, and the Business Community:
· Every single Republican Secretary of State since Henry Kissinger supports ratifying the Law of the Sea Treaty. Every. Single. One. Henry Kissinger, George P. Shultz, James Baker III, Colin Powell, and Condoleezza Rice.
· The military supports the Law of the Sea including the current Chief of Naval Operations, Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Commander of USNORTHCOMM and NORAD, Commander of U.S. Pacific Command, Commander of U.S. Transportation Command, Commander of U.S. Southern Command, Commander of U.S. Central Command, Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, and Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
America is suffering economically. We aren’t drilling for oil. We aren’t mining critical resources. The business community is fed up and knows that ratifying the Law of the Sea Treaty will turn things around for the U.S. economy.
