MALLOY'S BIGOTRY AGAINST NATIVE AMERICANS

Hartford, Connecticut — April 2, 2015 – Institute for Liberty (IFL) President Andrew Langer issued the following statement today in response to Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy's comments on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. In the interview, Governor Malloy stated, "When you see a bigot, you have to call them on it,” referencing the recent controversy over Indiana’s new religious liberty law:

“People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Governor Malloy deserves to be called on the carpet for his own bigotry. His administration, through actions by the State Department of Banking, has tested the bounds of its legal authority by attacking the tribal sovereignty of a Northern Oklahoma tribe. The NativeKidsFirst campaign highlights this discrimination and blatant abuse of power by the State and the impact it will have on Native Americans throughout the country.”

Yesterday, IFL launched a campaign slamming the Malloy Administration’s own discrimination against Native Americans. For more information about the campaign please click here.

IFL is an aggressive defender of the rights of individuals to pursue the American dream.  They inject the perspective of small businesses, and the working families that depend on them, into the public policy debate.  IFL’s President, Andrew Langer, has been a vocal critic of the federal government’s dishonest and unethical dealings with Native American tribes for many years.
